Hair accessories are of significant importance in Chinese cultural history. According to my research, different metals represented different 'ranking' of status in society, and different gemstones represented various meanings or wishes. I also represented the traditional feminine roles in Chinese history, of how we have the roles of being a 'housewife', sewing and such, through the use of the cotton yarn.
